Starting Kindergarten can be stressful and worrisome for both students and adults; however it is also an extremely exciting as well! In order to help your child feel more independent as we begin, here are some things you can work on if you choose:
★ Recognize his/her name with the first letter in uppercase and the remaining letters in lowercase (example: Robert)
★ Zip, unzip, put on, and take off his/her backpack
★ Recite his/her full name and address
★ Open and close his/her reusable water bottle
★ Practice opening/closing containers that may be used for snack or lunch
Here are two great websites you may wish to browse through: getreadytoread.org. Start with the "Transitioning to Kindergarten Toolkit." Students also love Starfall.com. Enjoy!
